teaching

The base of my teaching philosophy is that movement provides an outlet for people of all ages and abilities to discover and develop their creative expression. Dance class is a tool to nourish a mover’s originality, strength, flexibility, and confidence. In addition to individual growth, dance class connects us to other movers, fostering a community of individuals who witness and support each other’s self-discovery, risk taking, and vulnerability. The connections established in dance class, whether the students are 3 or 90 years old, are strong and distinctive. A successful class is one in which the movers see and uplift each other and leave feeling more confident, creative, and vigorous than when they arrived.
