This work-in-progress piece continues the work of the 2020 dance film entitled Siren Redress. Inspired by scholar Emily Wilson’s translation of the Odyssey, both works seek to dismantle the seductive mermaid iconography of one of mythologies most mistranslated female monsters. The sister-sirens in this work explore what it’s like to both reclaim their narrative and lean into it for play.
